Frequently asked questions
Do I need to rebuild my site?
No. Build it in one language, as you would for a normal site. The plugin copies it. If the site already exists, it is copied as it is.
Does the free plugin translate my texts?
Not in the free plugin. It copies the layout and keeps the texts of the source until you translate them yourself. VEFtranslate Pro, a separate extension, translates the texts with the service you choose, using your own account with that service.
What if I change a translated page by hand?
Your change is remembered and is never overwritten by a later update. If the same text changed in the source too, your version is kept and the page is flagged so you can look at it.
Are images duplicated?
No. Images and files are shared between the languages, so the media library stays as it is. Their alternative text and title are translated like any other text.
Is WooCommerce supported?
Not in this version. A separate add-on for shops is planned.
Do I need Divi or Elementor?
No. The block editor works without anything else. Elementor and Divi 5 are supported when they are active.
What happens when I delete the plugin?
Your pages, posts, menus and categories are never deleted: translated copies stay on the site as ordinary content.
